This student project deals with employment in the property-casualty insurance industry, a topic of much interest to many candidates. One might do similar projects for employment in the life insurance industry or for numbers of credentialed CAS or SOA members (using data from the CAS and the SOA). For the actuarial figures, one might separately consider male vs female actuaries. Asian candidates might look at actuaries in China, India, Taiwan, or Japan, all of which show large increases in recent decades.
