Question: I have taken a corporate finance course in college, but it is not listed on the SOA web site as approved for VEE credit. Should I take the NEAS on-line course?
Answer: Only courses that have been submitted by the colleges have been considered for approval. Your course may satisfy the VEE requirements, but no-one has yet submitted it to the SOA for approval. Submit the form on the SOA web site. Most courses meet the VEE requirements; you need not retake the course.
If the course does not satisfy the SOA requirements, or if you received less than a B- in the course, you should take the NEAS on-line course.
Question: My college gave pass/fail marks for my course. What should I do?
Answer: Some colleges give student evaluations instead of a letter grade. You must inquire of the SOA whether your course satisfies the VEE requirements.
Question: I took corporate finance in college. The course was not good, and I don’t know if it satisfies the VEE requirements. What should I do?
Answer: Most rigorous college courses fulfill the VEE requirements, but not all college courses have been approved by the SOA’s VEE administration committee. The SOA must approve any course for VEE credit, and it might take a few weeks before a certain course is approved.
