TS sproj housing prices momentum

Some investors speak of momentum: when stock prices or other equities (such as residential housing) rise, this creates momentum, and prices rise further. If markets are efficient, equity prices do not show momentum.

This student analyzes the momentum in housing prices. His student project is well worth reviewing. He correctly relates momentum to the form of the model: trend, seasonality, and other ARIMA effects. He uses R, which provides excellent statistical tools at no cost, though it takes time to learn the language. If you are young and beginning an actuarial career, learning R is an excellent use of your time.
