Homework assignment:

Solve either one of the following end of chapter problems, showing all work. The numerical answers are in the appendix to the textbook; for the homework assignment, show how the answer is derived.

●    Problem 5 on page 384 (1st ed) / page 391 (2nd ed).
    ○    Parts (a) and (b): show how to derive the confidence intervals.
    ○    Parts (c) and (d): show how to derive the minimum sample sizes.
●    Problem 23 on page 392 (1st ed) / page 400 (2nd ed).
    ○    Part (a): show how to derive the 99% confidence interval for p.
    ○    Part (b): the textbook explains what value of p to use.

When you say "Solve either one of the following end of chapter problems" does that mean I can turn in #5 only and get full credit?
