Homework assignment:

Solve end of chapter problem 7 on page 715 (1st ed) / page 744 (2nd ed), showing all work. Greater frequency of homicides in hot weather and during holidays is common. Fifty years of experience in Chicago and other large cities make the “solution” in the appendix seem silly, but the data here are sparse.
