Tests scores and the explanatory variables affecting them are fascinating for actuarial candidates, whose careers depend on tests. This student project shows several explanatory variables that might be used in a student project. Some people view the United States as a meritocratic society, with lives determined by school performance. Others see the U.S. as a more rigid society, with school performance affected by economic and social attributes of the students’ families. The school systems in the U.S. and Great Britain compile extensive data to test various relations.
