Solve one of the following end of chapter problems, showing all work. The numerical answers are in the appendix to the textbook; for the homework assignment, show how the answer is derived.

●    problem 37, parts a and b, on page 400 (1st ed) / page 408 (2nd ed), or problem 27, parts a and b, on page 472 (3rd ed)
●    problem 25, parts a and b, on page 472 (3rd ed)

Final exam problems often ask for the upper bound or lower bound of a confidence interval or a prediction interval.
