Solve one of the end of chapter problems below, showing all work.

●    problem 3 on page 714 (1st ed) / page 743 (2nd ed) / page 836 (3rd ed).

●    problem 7 on page 715 (1st ed) / page 744 (2nd ed). Greater frequency of homicides in hot weather (and during weekends and holidays) is common. Sixty years of experience in Chicago and other large cities make the “solution” in the appendix seem silly, but the data here are sparse.

●    problem 7 on page 836 (3rd ed).
