Economists and statisticians have developed numerous models to predict election outcomes from economic variables (along with political items like off-year elections). Many models are sophisticated, with numerous variables and lags; other models are straight-forward, with two or three explanatory variables. This student project computes a model for presidential elections. Many such models are available on web sites; you can test the models as student projects.
